1. Hiking up Gold Cord Trail:
Recently we went on a hike up Gold Cord Trail in Hatcher's Pass (a 10 minute drive from our home). At the top of the trail there is a clear blue lake that is fed from the snow run-off. Needless to say, the water is freezing and it's not advisable to jump into the lake. However, my siblings Micah, Sam, and Mariah, all jumped in - crazy people.
Here are a few pictures of our hike - it was beautiful! This is the one of the reasons I wanted to move back to Alaska.
2. Tim's 25th Birthday:
We celebrated Tim's 25th birthday with a German Chocolate cake and a couple of gifts. He has been working long shifts at Delta and so it was nice for him to say no to working late, and instead come home to celebrate his birthday. Tim works hard and I am very appreciative of all the sacrifices he makes so he can provide for his family.

3. Hiking Gold Mint Trail:
We decided to go hiking on the Gold Mint trail in Hatcher's Pass. The trail is about 10-12 miles one way and ends at a glacier. However, we didn't go the full way - just a few miles and then turned around. The scenery was beautiful no matter how far you went.
Also, during our excursion, Tim dropped my phone in a small creek. I was afraid it wouldn't work again and we would have to buy another one, but we did the bag of rice trick and in a few days it was working again!

We have really enjoyed the beautiful hikes we have done this summer, and are excited to do more!
