This is what its all about

A picture says a thousand words -

Here he is - the man we've both been waiting for for nine long months. Actually, Tim has wanted kids since age 15, but we mean actively waiting for for nine months.

Irene gave birth to little Dominic after 12 hours of laboring. He was/is healthy, strong, and beautiful! We both know he's an exceptionally good looking baby, but it has been really gratifying to hear EVERYONE who sees him say the same thing.

I (Tim) wrote a song for Irene for our wedding, and one of the lines went like this:

We owe it to humanity to have as many kids as we can -

'Cause good looks like yours, girl, the world could use some more like them.

Boy was I right! Irene worked her genetic magic and produced an offspring that is making women for hundreds of miles feel baby-hungry. He has been such a good baby! He inherited his mom's wide-spreading toes, the classic Fry family chin, as well as her overall good looks. From dad he got radically over-exaggerated stretches, satisfyingly strong sneezes, and a nice rounded head shape. He can also flair his nostrils, which makes dad very proud.

He does not cry much at all, but mostly looks around with a serious and contemplative look on his face - that is, when he's not sleeping. When he is sleeping (roughly 73.925 percent of the time) he makes lots of noises and sometimes gets a big grin on his face. We wonder what he dreams about.......milk? Sometimes he is agitated when he sleeps, and then we suspect he is reliving the birth - that must have been pretty darn traumatic!!! And really, what else does he have in his memory to have nightmares about? That one time dad changed his diaper with really cold hands? Sheesh.

Newborn Exam - He scored a 9 on the APGAR! That's our boy, a good test-taker from day 1. Literally - day ONE!

2 hours after the birth. Irene did so amazingly! No medication, no nothing. What an endurance sport!

He always has his hand up by his face (look for it in some of the other pictures). Even in his first ultrasound we saw a little hand up there!

Happy to be home with mom and dad!

We were so grateful that Mom Fry got to come and spend 5 days with us after the birth! We also got great visits from Uncle Rilie and Aunt Kara, just to mention a few. Here is Dominic with Oma Fry and Uncle Rilie (notice how both he and Irene have the Fry chin? Yep, she passed it on to Dom!)
